RIDING A BICYCLE

Kae is coming for a visit, and I'm not ready for it. I am going to need a vacation after she leaves to go back to New York, where she is working as a magazine editor. Kae is a good friend, who has a thing about getting into all kinds of accidents. She has been hit by a bicycle, she has fallen off a curb and broken her arm, she has been splashed by a car going through the only puddle in the road on an 80-degree day, which caused her to misstep and break her big toe. The girl is accident-prone. She should have her very own PI attorney on retainer. I always tell her I am going to write a book about her, and it will be a comedy/tragedy sort of thing. I wouldn't know whether to make it a serious tone or just look for the humor in each incident. We talk on the phone a lot and she always ends up asking if I have started that book yet. She says I should wait, because she knows the big thing has not yet happened to her yet, and I don't want to waste good ink.
